MOSTERT WINS 6 HOURS OF BURIRAM
Chaz Mostert has capped of his time in the Asian Le Mans Series with a win in Buriram, Thailand and leaves the championship leading the standings.
Again partnering with Jesse Krohn and Jun-San Chen in the AAI Motorsports BMW M6 GT3, Mostert started the weekend off with some promising times in the Free Practice sessions.
After a troubled qualifying session for Krohn, the #91 BMW started at the back of the three-car GT class, with Mostert then completing a double stint in the middle of the race.
Mostert eliminated a two-and-a-half minute deficit after taking over from Chen, before handing over to Krohn who brought the BMW home for the Race win and the 2017/18 season Championship Lead.
Mostert finished his part of the on a high, but will miss the Malaysian finale as he will be contesting the Bathurst 12 Hour for BMW.
Mostert will now prepare to race with BMW drivers Marco Wittmann and Augusto Farfus at the 12 Hour on February 2 – 4.
